Employment Visas

Employment-based immigration is for noncitizen that desires to live permanently in the U.S. for the purpose of conducting business or making an investment benefits the U.S. economy.

  • EB-1 preference is reserved for persons of extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics; outstanding professors or researchers; and multinational executives and managers.

  • EB-2 preference is reserved for persons who are members of the professions holding advanced degrees or for persons with exceptional ability in the arts, sciences, or business.

  • EB-3 preference is reserved for professionals, skilled workers, and other workers.

  • EB-4 preference is reserved for special immigrants.

  • EB-5 preference is reserved for business investors who invest in a new commercial enterprise that employs at least 10 full-time U.S. workers. There are investment thresholds that must be met to qualify for this type of visa.
