EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa: a green card through investment
EB-5 leads to a green card for you, your spouse, and unmarried children under 21. You can invest directly in your own business or through a USCIS-designated regional center project. Either way, the investment must create at least 10 full-time jobs for U.S. workers.
The current minimum investment is $1,050,000, or $800,000 for a project in a Targeted Employment Area (TEA) or a qualifying infrastructure project. These amounts will increase for inflation on January 1, 2027; petitions filed before that date keep the current amounts.
Investors must also document the lawful source of their investment funds, so planning should start well before any money moves. We help you evaluate a regional center project or structure a direct investment, assemble the source-of-funds evidence, and prepare your petition and the green card process that follows.
Planning an investment? Schedule a consultation with immigration attorney Galina Urman before you sign a subscription agreement or transfer funds. The structure of the deal can determine whether it qualifies.
